Do you love reading books to kids?

Stroud Library is looking for a volunteer…

If you have 1 to 2 hours free each month and enjoy reading to young children this may be the project for you. The library also has musical instruments available and the opportunity for craft, to help bring the books to life.

Stroud Library Hours

  • Monday to Friday – 9am to 12noon
  • Tuesday and Friday – 3pm to 5pm
  • Saturday – 10am to 12noon

Excerpt | Proof of benefits of reading to children;

MELBOURNE researchers have proven what parents have intuitively known all along – the more often you read to your children from an early age, the greater the positive effect on their reading and thinking skills. The Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research has not only proven a causal effect between the frequency of reading to a child and his or her development, but have also for the first time measured the benefits.
