Pictures of the Waratah Male Choir
Bill Howie conducted the Waratah Male Voice Choir accompanied by Wendy Church. They sang to a large audience and the performance was the Choirs gift to Stroud’s Parish Hall renewal project. They were entertained after the concert at Mill Creek Vineyard.
At just 17 years of age, Stroud’s Oliver Wheeler has clocked up some serious tuba mileage, from being a foundation member of Booral’s school band at 8 years of age, to touring France, Austria, Japan and the U.S. with the Hunter Wind Ensemble over the past 7 years. He is the current Junior E Flat Tuba Champion of NSW.
Accompanying Oliver on the organ was his very proud godfather, Ian McCahon, a graduate of Newcastle Conservatorium, who has just retired as the Director of Artistic Administration at Opera Australia.
