The garden club meetings are usually held outside in the glorious garden of one of our members, see minutes for the location. We advise all our members and visitors to bring a hat, sunscreen and a chair to ensure everyone is comfortable. Members also like to bring a plate of food to share after the meeting – we usually break for lunch around Noon.

The meetings are informative and entertaining with guest speakers and members giving informative talks. We also like to share our garden likes and dislikes, favourite tools & tips, funny garden experiences etc. allowing everyone to get to know each other better. Sherlock Gnome (aka Jennifer Woolley) chooses some obscure or unusual word sourced from garden books etc. and explains the meaning to Members at each Meeting.

Each meeting we have a raffle and a lucky door prize plus we provide a Trade Table. The Trade Table sells cheap plants, vegies, propagated by our past-President and Life Member, Annette Brackham, or donated by other members.

Throughout the year our members enjoy bus trips and outings to visit other Clubs or places of interest. Part of the cost of these outings and is subsidised. During December  we hold our Christmas Party meeting at the Stroud Country Club.

The Stroud & District Garden Club was formed in 1999 with only 23 members and was Incorporated in 2000. In 2009 we had a total of 106 members. We are one of the largest social clubs in Stroud with 98 current members.
