Suzanne Strauss and Lisa Smith left Stroud today loaded up with 36 bags brimming with the generosity of locals.
The big-hearted locals put the call out several weeks ago for locals to get behind the Share The Dignity campaign. The ‘It’s In The Bag’ initiative which aims to support women experiencing hardship this Christmas. They were overwhelmed when dozens of bags turned up on their doorsteps donated by generous locals. The bags were loaded with practical and special items including: scarves, hair ties, shampoo, conditioner, hand cream, body lotion, perfume, deodorant, pads and tampons, toothbrush, toothpaste, book, sunscreen, lip gloss and hair brushes.
Lisa and Suzanne took the bags to a drop off point in Raymond Terrace today in time for them to be distributed to women in need for Christmas.
Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this fantastic community effort, and a big shout out to Lisa and Suzanne for having the initiative to coordinate our collective generosity.
Bags can still be donated: go to www.sharethedignity.com.au/itsinthebag for details.
Excellent effort, well done everyone.
