Lone Pine Fire – Update 3.57pm

Information from NSW Rural Fire Service

Current Situation

  • The fire has cut the Pacific Highway and is burning on the northern side of the township of Karuah, a south westerly change has moved across the fire ground in a northerly direction towards Limeburners Creek.
  • Crews are in the area and Large Air Tankers are being sent to assist firefighters on the ground.
  • Residents of Karuah and Swan Bay are advised to monitor the situation closely and take advice from firefighters on the ground.
  • Residents of North Arm Cove and Carrington should continue to monitor the situation.
  • Firefighters and aircraft are currently working in the area.
  • Residents of Nine Mile Creek Road and Nine Mile Creek are advised that firefighters are in the area and to take advice from those firefighters on the ground.
  • Pacific Highway & Bucketts Way remains closed.

Advice

  • Under the current conditions homes can offer safety, monitor conditions and take the advice of firefighters.
  • Enact your bush fire survival plan, if you do not have a plan know what it is you will do if the fire threatens.
  • Be alert to burning embers.

    Thanks Pauline. Unfortunately the Bucketts Way remains closed this morning, despite earlier reports that it had reopened.

    I have just seen on rfs. website that Pacific Highway is now open but not sure about Bucketts Way around Limeburners.
