Many local folk in and around Stroud will be celebrating Halloween tomorrow. Halloween occurs annually on October 31 and is also known as All Hallows’ Eve – the day before All Saints’ Day. You’ll find a brief history of the day here.
If you’d like to let local trick-or-treaters know you’re open for Halloween business, don’t forget to leave your front light on and maybe put some balloons or decorations out the front to let them know you’ve got treats! Trick-or-treaters could start calling from late afternoon.
Not everyone is into Halloween. If you don’t want trick-or-treaters knocking on your door, consider putting a sign on your door and turning off your front light. You could write a straightforward “Sorry, no trick-or-treating here” or be a little cute with something like “The skeletons took all the treats! Maybe you can find more at the next door…”
And trick-or-treaters, please remember to be respectful of others and their property.
Well stated SCW. Saves a lot of disrespect on both sides of the front door pauline!
