The Karuah Valley region is due to come online with the Federal Governments National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Parts of the Hunter/New England district have had access to the NDIS since 2013 as the local government areas of Newcastle, Maitland and Lake Macquarie formed the NDIS trial site in NSW. The full scheme will become available in the Hunter/New England district from June 2016. More information | www.ndis.gov.au
Booral Public School is hosting two information sessions, which will be lead by a representative from LeapFrog. The purpose of these sessions is to help individuals, parents and carers understand what the NDIS means for them and to assist them in making informed decisions about their NDIS plan.
LeapFrog is at the forefront of disability services in the Hunter region providing support and advice for people living with a disability since 1996. More information | www.leapfrog.org.au
