‘Lost Worlds’ summer reading club

On 1 December registrations for the summer reading club will open in all Great Lakes Council Libraries.

This is an awesome program to encourage kids to read over summer or parents to read to them. Any child, new born through to youth 18 years of age can be registered.

The starter kit contains an activity book, a reading log, a bookmark and tattoo. As well as being registered at your local library we will register you online so that you will go into a state-wide prize draw to win one of eight iPods.

As we receive your child’s reading logs we will also log their book titles online which places them in a draw to win 1 of 3 ‘lost worlds’ book packs.

The Library will be recording the titles that children read so that we can identify the popular titles for kids this summer.

Your local branch library will collect the completed reading log (10 book titles) and encourage your child to take more.

The more reading logs completed and return to your local library the more chances you will have to win prizes!

We would also like to encourage children and parents to go online at www.summerreadingclub.org.au and check out the activities available, colour sheets, great read lists, fun sites and competitions, or even finish someone else’s story in ‘What happens next?’

We are really excited this year to be able to offer some great prizes. Each branch will have a prize draw and remember – the more you read the more chance you have of being a winner.
