The Christmas Truce

A performance for Stroud Seniors

‘The Christmas Truce’ tells the story of the first Christmas of World War I, when German and Allied Soldiers laid down their arms and met in no-man’s land, exchanging gifts and goodwill, on Christmas Day 1914.

A ukelele player from Hawks Nest, Brian Jones, has written this play to coincide with the 100 year anniversary of the war, and has brought it to Stroud under the Direction of Anne Frost. The play is well written, simple, poignant and well performed and I am sure it will be enjoyed by all.

The play runs for about 35 minutes and will be performed as part of the Stroud Lion’s Annual Seniors Christmas social, followed by afternoon tea.
