One person’s trash is another’s treasure

Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week – 9 to 15 November

Great Lakes Council residents have another great reason to visit their nearest ReUse Centre (or Tip Shop) during National Recycling Week (9 – 15 November) – and that’s besides finding a bargain or donating unwanted, pre-loved treasures for others to buy.

Any resident who visits a Great Lakes Reuse Centre or Tip Shop during Recycling Week will be entered in the draw for a $25 re-use Centre voucher.

Tip Shops or Re-Use Centres (locations below) sell quality used, recycled and second hand products that have been salvaged or donated rather than ending up in landfill. Tip Shops and Re-use Centres are a great place to find a bargain and are stocked with products such as household furnishings; collectables; books; toys; sporting equipment, and so much more.

You can also drop off your unwanted re-usable items to your local ReUse Centre or Tip Shop ensuring goods get a second life. ReUse Centres ensure valuable resources are re-used and kept out of landfill, saving valuable space and helping to protect our environment by making the most of the resources we use.

Planet Ark’s National Recycling Week (9 – 15 November) highlights the environmental benefits of re-use and recycling programs, while making participation enjoyable and easy through a number of community events and programs.

This project is run across all MidWaste Councils and is an initiative of the NSW EPA Waste Less, Recycle More initiative funded from the waste levy.
