There have been rumours circulating in the area that several householders have suffered losses of backyard poultry by the dastardly deeds of a Quoll (called Native cat by some people). If it is definitely a Quoll, this is exciting news. Quolls are listed as vulnerable in NSW, while in other parts of Australia they are listed as endangered or rare.
If you are certain a Quoll is in our district, Mat Bell, Senior Ecologist, at Great Lakes Council would love to hear about the location and details of any sightings.
