The allocation of the Duralie Coal community enhancement funding is to be deferred by Great Lakes Council.
The Great Lakes region was subject to an enormous amount of storm damage during the April 2015 storm event. Stroud village in particular was impacted and community infrastructure at the showground was extensively damaged.
At the council meeting on August 25 it was decided to defer the allocation of the funding pending advice from the state government in relation to council’s request for emergency funding for repair / replacement of storm damaged infrastructure at Stroud Showground.
An update will be provided as more information becomes available.

Astounding! Is there anything council won’t do to cover their own butts!
