Ive heard stories from people on the Showground Committee that the insurance claim for the Showground made by the Council has been declined or turned down as not covered in the insurance policy.

If the insurance claim has been declined is it due to the lack of cover of the Council’s policy or a dispute with the Insurance company over the cover?

Or has the Council had a financial settlement for its multiple claims in relation to the floods from it’s insurer including the damage to the Showground and it is the Council who are in fact choosing Where, When and How the financial settlement with the Insurance Company is being spent in relation to the Council’s wider district and not just Stroud.

Is it possible to have the position in relation to the situation and timeframe for complete restoration of all the facilities being completed back to their original condition please posted publicly on the Community Website so that the town and the Showground userd can be officially told what the current official position is.

I have ccd this to you Karen as hopefully you are the person with the most accurate and up to date information for publication.

There is growing interest from within and outside of Stroud as to story doing the rounds that the Council’s insurer has declined the claim the to the Stroud Showground and its amenities not being covered.

I think it is essential that we know what the real situation is going forward.

Thanks for your comment Brendan. The concerns you expressed are held by many in the community. We understand that a community meeting to discuss these issues is to be held soon, however we don’t have the details yet. As soon as these are available we will send out a post. With your permission we’d like to include your letter above with that post.

      Kind regards
