The Hepburns, a classy act

Story courtesy of the Dungog Chronicle;

Formed two years ago, local Stroud band The Hepburns took their name from an iconic Audrey Hepburn poster displayed on a band member’s garage wall.
Fashioning themselves on this sleek look, they dismissed the more regular 80’s and 90’s pub rock formulae in favour of a modern party pop dance mix.
This was a decision that has proved popular with both punters and publicans, who all enjoy the variety a Hepburns’ gig brings.
Rapidly becoming on of the Hunter’s most popular bands The Hepburns have played many Hunter venues including the popular Raw Challenge events at Riverwood Downs and a recent Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser at Gresford’s Beatty Hotel.
Their growing popularity has also brought gigs at the Catho Pub, Finnegan’s, Hunter River and Sydney Junction Hotels.
Full-time uni students Kat Munro and Pat Truscott juggle study and assignments with rehearsals and live performance.
Both are singer songwriters with Kat recently giving a stunning performance at the Karuah River of Music Festival and Pat touring with originals band Calvacade,  supporting international act British India.
They share vocals and harmonies with Kat featuring on bass, mandolin and keyboard while Pat wows the audience on lead guitar.
Sensational drummer Rod Bull and an energetic Alan Munro on rhythm guitar complete the line-up.
This Friday at 8pm will see the band return to Clarence Town Bowling Club.
“As much as  we enjoy town venues we are forever grateful to the country towns who gave us our first gigs and helped build our reputation,” Kat Munro said.
“We are looking forward to returning to Clarence Town to catch up with some friends and meet a few of the locals. We hope you can join us.
