Stroud Brickthrowing – Saturday 5 July 2014

The Brick n Pin is almost here… Be sure to sign up and throw a brick or a pin this year. The Street Parade is scheduled to commence at 10:30am, if you would like to participate in the parade please assemble at Quambi no later than 10am. If you have any enquiries about the parade please contact Margaret Swilks 4994 5220.

Parade Theme is – ‘Out of Africa’

Cowper Street will be closed to traffic from 10am for the duration of the Parade, and will be lead by international town crier Mr Graham Keating. The official opening of the Brick n Pin competition will take place at the Showground by the Honourable Bob Baldwin MP.

Brick and Pin – July

The Brick n Pin throwing competition kicks off after the official opening. So don’t be shy, put your name down to throw a Brick or a Rolling Pin. The lads throw the Bricks and the ladies throw the Pins. Excellent prizes for each category, which will be awarded by Lucky Starr!

There’s loads of fun for everyone;

  • Children’s activities set to take place in front of the Grandstand.
  • Face painting
  • Lucky Starr & Dakota Blue will provide the entertainment throughout the day on the new stage area near the Grandstand.
  • Keep an eye on the stage on the oval, lots will be happening!
  • Wool Spinning demonstration will take place near the Pavilion area.
  • Quilt Exhibition inside the Pavilion.
  • Football match at 6pm – Stroud Raiders vs Dungog.

Keeping competitors and visitors well fed;

  • The Brickthrowing Committee will host the Bar facilities and BBQ in the Mexon Stalls.
  • Stroud Road School will host the Kiosk with their usual high standard of food and beverage.
  • Booral School will serve sit down high quality meals, snacks and something for the sweet tooth in the Luncheon Pavilion.
