The Deep – Civic Theatre Newcastle

The Deep is about a little girl named Alice  who must overcome her fear of swimming in the ocean.

LEGO Newy 2014 competition – Newcastle Museum

Put your sci-fi goggles on, look to the future and try to imagine the kinds of buildings that architects will design and build in Newcastle in 2050 and beyond. Then turn your vision into reality with LEGO.

Largest LEGO model of Rome’s Colosseum – Newcastle Museum

A quarter of a million LEGO bricks were used to create the Colosseum, put together by 10,000 slaves working for LEGO Certified Professional Ryan ‘Vitruvius” McNaught.

The model is the centrepiece of an exhibition about Rome’s largest surviving building from the great days of its Empire. The exhibition includes sculpture and coins of the Emperors, as well as artefacts used in daily life by the ordinary Roman who enjoyed 100 days of holiday and games when the original Colosseum opened in 80 AD

ArchiFUN LEGO Workshops – Newcastle Museum

These workshops are hosted by the Newcastle Emerging Architects and Graduates Network – EmAGN. Learn the basics of architecture and buildings from professional architects then put your new skills to work at our LEGO tables.

Creek Critters Workshop – Midcoast Water

Did you know that the small creatures in our streams aren’t only very interesting, they can tell us a story about how healthy the water coming off our towns and farms is? Learn how to read that story, and have a fun time catching bugs with the kids while you’re at it! The workshop is open to anyone who wants to learn about the health of our rivers.
