Public feedback sought on proposed road works at Stroud

Information provided by Great Lakes Council

Great Lakes Council has developed preliminary plans for the reconstruction of Berkeley Street, Stroud between Lamans Creek Bridge and Broadway Street and is seeking public feedback on those roadwork plans.

In brief, the following works are proposed to be undertaken:

  • the existing road pavement will be removed and replaced at adjusted levels to match the existing kerb and gutter on the eastern side;
  • road formation width will consist of 2 x 3.5m wide travel lanes and 2x 4m wide parking lanes;
  • kerb and gutter will be constructed on the western side between Laman and Broadway Streets. This kerb and gutter will also be returned on the northern side of Laman Street and the southern side of Broadway Street;
  • the existing drainage pipes will be extended on the western side from house number 11 to house number 5;
  • the existing traffic calming device will be removed and replaced, with a path built through the western nib.

Construction of a concrete path on the western side is not included in the scope of these works.

Plans are available for viewing on Council’s website, at the Stroud District Office or the Forster Administration Centre during normal office hours.

Submissions must be made in writing, following the directions on the website or at the exhibition location, and received by 4pm on Thursday 17 April 2014.

    Hi Judy
    Make sure you forward your concerns on to Great Lakes Council, the contact details are in the post above. It might be worth while to let parents know about the proposed road works so their opinions can be included.

    Kind regards

    As Director of the preschool which is located centrally in the proposed area, I was wondering what arrangements will be made for parking at drop off and pick up times for parents
