Karuah to Tahlee

Walk the Heritage Listed Australian Agricultural Road

You’re invited to join a guided 5km walk (easy) from Karuah to Tahlee. The heritage listed road was built by convicts and used from 1826 to the late 1950’s, linking the settlements of Karuah and Tahlee.

Participants will gather and register at Longworth Park Karuah. In groups, you’ll walk across the Karuah Bridge to the AAco reserve and enjoy a light meal. After lunch you’ll continue on to Yalimbah Creek where an oyster barge will ferry everyone across the river. From here you’ll walk along the heritage AAco road to Tahlee. The delicious Tahlee House jam and scones afternoon tea is waiting for you at the end of the journey. Another highlight is the opportunity to view the historic Tahlee House.
