Media release from Great Lakes Council
Are you a community group needing funding for a particular project? If so, Great Lakes Council would like to hear from you.
Last year’s process in the Great Lakes Local Government Area resulted in 60 applications for Category One funding and more than $89,000 in grants being handed out to 36 organisations across the region.
ClubGRANTS sees NSW clubs that earn over $1 million annually in gaming machine revenue provide funding for community projects and services, and in turn receive dollar-for-dollar gaming tax deductions.
“This funding is important to the community because it is administered by local representatives who have an in-depth knowledge of our area. That means it is effective in ensuring that local needs are funded” said Council’s Community Services Coordinator Lyndie Hepple.
The ClubGRANTS Local Committee says “our Clubs will continue to demonstrate commitment to the Great Lakes community by providing funding that is spread as far as possible across a wide variety of local projects and activities whilst providing the greatest tangible benefit to the needs of our area”.
Please Note that recipients of previous funding are reminded that they will be ineligible for further funding unless their project reports have been completed and submitted to the relevant club.
