Seasonal interference to digital TV
Some residents in the Hunter region may experience intermittent TV reception difficulties, more frequently occurring during the summer months. This type of interference causes deterioration of picture quality and intermittent loss of signal. During specific weather conditions, particularly high pressure systems and still conditions, signals from distant transmitter sites are carried further than normal. This is known as atmospheric ducting and can cause interference to reception of TV services in areas where signal levels are relatively weak. Read through the Ducting Fact sheet – Hunter region – Nov 2012 for information on what you can do to improve reception problems caused by seasonal interference.
