Early switch to digital TV for Stroud residents

Analog TV services will be switched off in Stroud earlier than other areas to make way for new digital-only TV services.

Broadcasters are planning to upgrade the self-help transmitter, located at the Stroud Reservoir (King St) in late August 2012.

An early switchover to digital-only TV is required for Stroud because the building used to house the transmission equipment is unable to accommodate both analog and digital transmission equipment.

Work to upgrade each site to digital generally commences on the morning of the switchover day. There will be disruptions to TV services while this work is being undertaken. All digital services should be available in the afternoon. On the day of the switchover, people will need to retune their set-top box or digital TV to receive the new digital services.

Information session

Digital switchover taskforce is holding an information session at Stroud to inform everyone about the switch over and to answer the community’s questions.

Where: Stroud School of Arts, Cowper Street Stroud
When: Wednesday 13 June 2012
Time: 3- 6 pm
